Was wondering if anyone has heard or had any experience with the Mammut Pulse Beacon? Found a package deal for 370 that includes the beacon, shovel, probe, and a backpack. Is it a good beacon, easy to use, worth the money?

Seriously....$370? That is a GREAT deal then....and I too would like to know where that is. Another question would be, do they sell the beacon on it's own for less, or is it only a package deal kind of thing?
i have used one, they are great. the three antennas and multiple victim search make it one of the best.

All right, I found this yesterday at Backcountry.com. It was listed at 371.21 for the Pulse Beacon, Mammut Expert shovel, Mammut Standard probe, Mammut Freeride backpack, and some kind of heat blanket. Today I went on the site and it was bumped to $494.95. But If you google Mammut Package it clearly comes up at $371.21. I just ordered mine and had to call them and tell them where I found the price. They sold it to me for 371.21 but I don't know how much longer they will do that so I would hurry up and get one if you want one. The other place that had them for 371 was Tahoemountainsports.com, don't know if they still do or not. Seemed like a pretty good deal to me, I valued it at around $630 without the package. Good luck

In this case shovel and probe go in the pack...
Seems to be the way many avalanche professionals are adopting these days.
Having said that, the shovel has slots on the scoop, I'm sure you could rig something if you were planning on getting stuck.

Hell I can sell my old beacon now for like $200 even and still come out way on top with deal since I was planning on buying a Shovel/Pack combo this year anyways and have a better beacon ....

Still not a bad deal considering that the Pulse retails at $399.95 alone.
The pack is nice, the shovel and probe are also good quality, the retail equivalent would be somewhere around $175 ~ $200 just for those items...
