Has anyone ever....

Instead of making excuses.. I found a GF that likes riding as much as I do.. We go every weekend and she rides with all of the guys.. She even out rides some of them..

Me too!

If I was single I would lose my only reliable riding buddy!

X2
My wife is my buddy for everything I do. I would be totally lost without her!

On the few occasions when I do go w/o her, I'm constantly wishing she was with me to enjoy the experience also. It helps that she's an awesome rider, and for the most part, can keep up with anyone we ride with.

Yes, it has in the past interfered with my relationships, even tried to get some guys into riding. I got to the point I would not date if they did not ride.....I finally found a great man and he loves to ride as much as I do, and I married him!!

thats right find a chick with a sled who likes what you like ...pretty easy equation for a life partner ....

Im with you J-Roc. If I hear another excuse that someone cant go because the wife said so, or the wife won't let me, or the wife is going somewhere so I have to stay home, Im gonna find me some new riding partners. ha ha ha All my riding buddies are married, and I see how the "wife" affects their ridding time. Every time I hear it, it makes me want to get married even less. Most of my married friends say, if you don't want kids, don't get ever get married. Being a teacher, my mind is made up.

Also, I play the odds. If 75% of marriages end in divorce, and half of those that stay married are unhappily married, well, thats just not good odds.

There are times that riding with the wives is fine but 99.9% of the time I don't ride with them. When they come I find myself not enjoying it because I am always worried about them, can they make it, are they stuck, hell half of them can't even pull start their own sled! I am fine going when we plan the wives but when we end up going and get their and find out someone brought their wife my first thought is to leave. I am not trying to be a jerk here, I have just never ridden with a woman that I wasn't worried about. With the guys I just know that they will make it. If they don't we can poke fun at them, but who's going to give the woman s hit because she couldn't make it.
I know that I am selfish but I don't care. My wife doesn't like sledding so it is perfect for me, I don't have to worry about her wanting to go and me not inviting her!
Besides women belong in the kitchen! hahaha

my wife(gf at the time) actually got me into riding and for a while was a lot better rider than i was, i am just crazier or stupider not sure which one

and i do worry about her getting hurt or buried when we go but that also keeps me out of some of the canyons or off some of the hills that probably weren't safe enough to be on anyway, so it can be good thing too

makes you look at things differently when you are jeopardizing the lives of others, not just your own

J-Roc I hear ya. With work in the summer 60+ hrs easy and the winter with sledding the only way I think it would work is I would have to find some one that would love to ride or willing to learn how and enjoy it. In my Family we live to work and ride our sleds that's all I have known.

I get allot of flack from my friends and the guys I work with about my toys and still being single.
