Has anyone broke their updated XP drive shaft?

Grenaded my WELDED driveshaft today on the exhaust side. 540 miles on the machine. Anyone make a solid driveshaft that will fit the XP yet. I don't wait to do any 15 mile tow out...especially up some of the climbs we had to do.

Was that you at Salmon la Sac? Saw one getting towed out that eve. Didn't talk to the driver though to find out wha happen'd.

Make sure you carry a fist full of money to pay for the chopper ride.....and hope like hell your not on a steep slope when it goes.....

My point exactly. Weld it to get thru until there is a real fix. A welded shaft just means it will happen again.

Just to be sure, not to insult anyone, but can I asume that the welded shafts that broke were "new" replacement shafts before they were welded? And they were welded with the drill and spot weld method? Did some of you guys try to run a bead the whole way around?

I truly hope Ski-doo does a recall for you guys with broken drive shafts. It is so disappointing to hear of this issue consistently throughout the season. No matter what, design or supplier issue regarding material imperfection, I would hope BRP would take care of there customers with the professional care that is deserved.

I remember my 2005 M-series were having bolt issues that held the Diamond drive to the other side of the sled where the brake is located. This bolt is approx. 17" long. I was happy to see Cat had a recall that following year with a new bolt and isolator, as admitting a design issue. So, in your standpoint, I really hope Ski-doo don't give you the 'shaft', but instead admit to the issue and help all you out with a real new drive shaft..... Good luck to you all!
