Handlebar warmers

I have one side on my 08 Apex MTX that doesnt work, I traced the power and it is getting power, so I am assuming the element is dead. How do I replace these? The grip is riveted on, do I have to drill out the rivet then cut the grips off? Or can you save the grips at all? And for reinstalling whats the easiest way? Thanks for any help.

Yamaha is now selling the warmers as an accessory in the snow catalogue. I did the RSI warmers before they did this and they work fine. If you do the RSI set up, be careful ow you stick them on as it will cover 1 or 2 of the rivet holes. I used safety wire on the grip to be sure they would not twist with only 1 rivet in. If done properly, safety wire will not tear up your gloves or bare hands if you like to ride that way

Do the RSI warmers have 2 or 3 wires, I have been looking arround a bit and I have found a few but they are a 3 wire, and the Yamaha are a 2 wire.

Dont worry about the 3 wire ones, you end up twisting 2 together anyways. I have sold lots of the Yamaha warmer kits from RSI and they work great. Shad

Are these the same kits that Yamaha sells for 112$ cdn? With the grips, glue and elements? If not how much are these kits? Or if they are just elements, can you get the stock grips off and reuse them or do you have to buy new ones.
