Handle bar heaters?

i have heard it go both ways, yea and no. I have the same bike and would like to add heaters as well. Im not sure that just because there is a kit that it means the stator will run it. I have heard the wr stator will work on the yz's and supply the needed power.

I would have to check on that also as the WR is a different engine design,,,But mabe??I see that Yamaha has a 2.4 gal tank also and a Heavier flywheel ?? mabe good additions along with the rekluse,

I your not running lights you have enough power on the FI yammies to power a set of handle bar grip heaters..
To that note have you guys seen the water taps some Ice racers use to flow H2o from the motor threw the bars?
Looks to work well, not so sure about hose routing.

Good to Know! I plan on using the cyclops light with the 4 hr batery pack in my back pack!!Thanks!!

I was planning on getting your Penetrator 310 Light Kit for my 11' KX450F this winter. I imagine that I can have grip warmers and the light installed as long as only one product is running at a time, right? I know having multiple things hooked up can sometimes create additional electrical issues so I wanted to be sure.

WR has a more powerful stator than a YZ!I curious what the output is on the YZ Im wondering if there is any reserve after the FI does its thing

Ive ran up to 70 watts on a FI KXF 450 for a short time, I didnt have the bike long enough for long term testing. My gut is that is way to much of a power draw for long term reliability. I know others that have run 50 watts with no issues.
The penetrator 310 only draws 15 watts so you might get away with running heaters and the headlight at the same time. Otherwise it would be one or the other.

Nice thread. I've been pondering the same question.

I just ordered a 70 watt stator for my 2011 KTM 350. Hoping to power a light and hand warmers full time!??!?

The yamaha web site says the YZ has a 100 watt stator, so wondering hoow much it takes to actually run the bike?

Fuel pump ,,injectors,, ecu,,etc etc wish I knew the real wattage draw???Hate to smoke an ECU ala polaris dragon, way in the back country!I have been forced to spend the night out 3 times now I heard that the 4 th time you DIE!!

On the 4th night out you call a chopper and having them bring you a 12 pack of beer for the ride home. 3 nights out? Damn!

Strange but each time out it got worse!LOL Yes I have my spot programed to call the corona distributor!
Any way took the air box out of by backaswards yamaha and figured out how to fix the air box problems, goint to be supper easy!may be lean running when I done but thats why I got the GYT programmer!

send me some pics, i have a few ideas as well. as long as you dont change the "airbox" the bikes stock system should be able to account for the changes.

got the new Berg home and found that the stator output is 225 watts hand warmers here we come!!! maybe a seat heater too!!
