Handle-bar gauntlets/muffs

Turns out buddy has a snow bike (so no hand warmers) and he has the klim ones; said his hands don't get cold. For $60 bones it's worth trying them out, going to get a pair.

Half of us run them in the group the other half suffer when its cold. I hate the look of them but maybe this year Ill run a set on the cold days. I was going to assume klim were going to be overpriced but they are right there with the powermadd.

OK, should I know what those bikes are?

Yamahaki?

Kawahaki?

.

Ah, from that angle I see that they are the old Hawks.

Any of these fit over a set of handguards?
Handguards would probably be good with the Klim ones... would probably help them hold their shape.

I got to ride with my Guantlets this weekend, they kind of suck off trail (though you get used to them after a bit), but that's not what they are meant for. Rode back to the trailer at -2F Sunday night, with warmers on high my hands were well done by the time we got back LOL.

Were you able to fold them back when not in use? If so did it work well or was it kind of kluge?

Now that you are used to them off trail - will you use them off trail again or take them off next time?

At least you are out riding, here it's the start of a bad winter. I usually get in a trip or 2 before Christmas, but not this year due to lack of snow.

I have Pro Taper bars, with a bar bag. I didnt even try to fold them back, when I tried to fold them back and in the shop it seemed like more work than its worth. Would likely work fine with a bar and riser setup like most sleds come with. I put them in my tunnel pack... they do take up alot of room.

95% of the time my hands arent cold off trail, but I did run them for a couple hours just to try em out. I got used to them. They get in the way if you are stuck and need to roll the sled or quickly access the throttle. Occasionally a guy has to adjust his hand to free up some space around the throttle and brake. Again they might work better on bars that arent Pro Tapers.

I won’t even bring them with me unless temps around 0°F... and in that case they will likely just be used to get to and from riding zones. If you get cold hands, these are certainly a GOOD option. A guy just needs to give them a little time. Not a perfect solution... but having cold hands really SUCKS.
