Handguards

get the powermadd powerx handgaurds, they have a flexible plastic mount that you can completely bend around and touch the handlebar without breaking them. I had star series until i hit a cornice and launched off the front and broke one off. The powerx are relatively cheap too

not sure if you can see them real well here

How do you guys keep your powermadd handguards from moving? I understand that you want them to be able to pivot so that they don't break, but mine will move if I just bump them. I have got my screws pretty tight and I'm afraid that it will break something if I go much more. Maybe a lock nut or something?

power mad

I use the powermads on my doos they rock. I use the full wrap mount that ties into the end of the bars. The wrap seems to make these thing super tough jumped through a tree yesterday:confused:they worked awesome try not to test out the tree durabilty to much but hey it happens :light:

I just put a set on my Phazer yesterday. The new Powermadd mounting kit "for sleds" has a little attachment, similar to an oval shaped washer with a little post that fits into a second hole on the mounting bracket itself. Kind of hard to describe but it seems to work. This kit was apparently deigned specifically to address that problem.

make sure the wrap around part isnt metal, ive seen ton of broken wrists from going over the bars and having hands locked into those things, scary:eek:

I just removed a set that I've had on since 2004. I liked them but the pressure that my sled cover puts on them eventually caused them to stay bent down even after the cover was removed. I probably replace them with new ones. Has anyone else had this problem with the sled cover?

mine will tilt so they lay flat on the cover, tilt back to ride ill see how it works

Just ordered hand guards for my M8, so havent gotten them yet but when put your sled cover on do you rotate them down some how to get them out of the way or does your cover fit over them?

I think they're a great ad on. Shield your hands when boondocking, break wind, etc. I always roll with the carbon fiber, they seem to be stronger and look trick as hell to boot......

Crush the fingers?

I have ridden with mine for 2 years now..... but have always been
scared about smashing into a tree and having one fold back and maybe take
a knukcle/ or finger or 2 off?

Anybody have a bad Experience?

My friend did not have them and almost lost a finger on a tree last year!!!

Draftingman:confused:

Do they make special mounts for the M-series? There is no exposed handlebar with the stock setup, so it seems standard mounts wouldn't work...

I ordered them from "Country Cat" Pn #4639-804, Arctic Cat Hand Guard Mounts - Injection Molded Nylon Hand Guard Mounts... suppose to be for the M's and C/F's, will see how they mount when I get them. Went with the nylon instead of the aluminum as I figured they would give a little instead of bending if you put them to the test...

looking for more reviews on the Skins hand guards?

They attach to the handle bar hook also? looking to put a set on my M any photos with them attach to a AC?

I wouldn't have them on my sled after seeing so many roll around the bars and shear off the hand warmer wires. Others I've seen break off at the hardware when rolled. Be tough or just carry some mits for the ride in.

I have ran the Acerbis flag handgaurds on my last two sleds and am currently putting them on my sled now. They make specific mounts for the Arctic Cat sleds as well as universal mounts for others. I have never broke a set off even after hurling my sled down a cliff minus the rider. They deffinately keep your hands warm.

any Skinz users?

I was thinking they might be easy to take off, if you get in the back in and there in the way!
