Handguards

These are the best I have found. http://www.bobscycle.com/browse.cfm/2,18996.html
If you aren't running a windshield I would definitely recommend them. No mount kit necessary, easy on easy off. I've tried others and they are really just for looks. These actually kept my hands warm. You'll really appreciate them in -20, but it's nice to wear less bulky gloves all the time too.

Do ya need them without a windshield? do the help keeping the hands alittle warmer? and what kind are the best?

Your hands WILL get much colder without a windhield or if your risers put your hands well above your windshield.

I run the PowerMadd set and they even have an insert that rises taller than the existing guards for even more protection.

hard to see, but they are on their....

i think your hands would keep warmer with hand gaurds on. I have just recently purchased a set of sportech hand guards. they look nice and they are amoung the biggest, most protecting ones out there. If you take a look at my profile picture you could see how protective they are

nothing like keeping your gloves warm and dry while your buds who are too cool to own them are having to stop because thier hands are frozen. also excellent protection from those pesky branches that just won't stay out of your way:)

much warmer!!

I put some on both my sleds, I thought it made sense. I ran them on my dirt bikes, why not the sleds too. Then one day i rode a friends sled that doesn't have any WOW their is a difference!!. It don't matter what they look find something that matches your sled and go for it.

i wouldn't have a sled without them again. i run the powermadd ones with the extra insert. c pic

Do you guys find they break off easy....any of my buds that have used them have had ****ty luck with them... one good roll and they break right off!!!!

yeah but use aluminum mounts and plastic bolts and more often then not the bolt will break and not the guard or mount. and if it does they are cheap to replace.

I run Powermadd. Love them I acctually swap the same set from my sled to my XR500R for summer riding. So far 3 years Same Set. I've whacked trees, flipped bike, I cant break the mounts, or the guards. Time for a new set for the sled tho, these ones getting a little scratched LOL

Oh, and I dont run hand warmers, so they really help.

i run the power madd star series hand guards and i love them.
last winter i ran with out a windshield and no grip warmers and my light hmk gloves froze solid lol.
but half way through i got the powermadd snowmobile mounting kit and stole them off my blaster, HUGE difference. they really help.

I ran the skidoo ones on my xp last year and broke both off the first time i rolled it over in deep snow. I thought they broke off fairly easy cause the snow was not very hard. Might try the skins ones they look better. Definitly nice to have on the way home in January cold with wet hands.

I run the ACERBIS ones on mine. Mounts are aluminum and guards seem pretty flexible so breakage shouldn't be an issue.

Without them my fingers would get cold, with them ....... seems to help.

HG

They are tough and will last you along time. Mine have been through several rollover but they suck if it is cold and you a wearing thicker gloves
