Handguards that will handle sled rolling......

So I ride 50/50 trail and need my lower windshield cause rhe taller one keeps popping rivets when sled is rolled when stuck. I am looking for some aftermarket handguards that will handle the sled being rolled. The poo ones brake. Any suggestions?

Either what die hard poo posted or like bdoe22 mentioned the Flex Tec. I used the Pro Series Heat Loc handguards for 5 years and liked them. The past season and a half I've been running the Flex Tec on the Pro and after many, many roll overs they are still in one piece. Great product. Problem is they have switch manufacturers and they have none until Fall. Flex Tec 2 will be available in fall 2012.

Thanks!!

Check out Skinz. Everyone that has bought them seems to like them. They are more for wind protection than hand protection because they are not hard but do provide some protection.

I have a set from an enduro bike on my SB assault, if you break these you will break the bars. Sled is up at camp, so I have no photos but I can get them if you want, I thought they would be in the way but they never were.

Do you mean this style? Where they bolt on at both ends

Sled Solutions,
Will the new Flex-Tec 2 mounting hardware fit the Pro-Taper handle bars without modifying it?

Barkbusters work great on sleds too. Great for hardcore tree riding and won't break when rolling them over to unstick them either. They also become your handle bar hooks too and make your bars feel narrower for the guys that think that the stock bars are too wide.

i use the heatlocks from skinz. i don't run them all the time, just when hitting trail at high speeds. velcro on and off, very quick and easy. i started with the polaris mounts and after 15 minutes i knew they were a bad idea. i like the old style doo plastic mounts, they are very flexable but there is no way to mount them on the pro tapers.

Ditto on the Cycra guards. Buddy introduced me to them a few years back now most of the guys we ride with run them. A set would last you a lifetime, they guard from wind well (better than the ones posted above), and they just plain work.

Our 13 will be getting another set of these.

those are factory bars....and better brackets are now available via cycra. Thats a '11 setup

For our Pro's, would the U-Clamp style handle bar mount be the best? I was thinking of getting a set and was curious if you have experience with this mount system? Or, what do you recommend?

Anyone ever get there hand/arm caught in the burlier styles of handguards? I have never really needed them for warmth but I have almost gotten my hands smashed by trees and branches countless times. Just don't want to have broken wrist either...

Of all the people I know running them none of us have had that problem, or even a close call. The first person I saw running this type around here was Eric Woog, (VOHK) and he had been running them for a decent while at that point.

I've seen the Barkbusters on Woog's Cat's but not on the Pro taper Poo's...

Any of the VOHK groupies have any pics of Erik's setup on the PRO?
