Hand guards on pro? what brand , or waste of money

i could see lots of use if your using a forward throttle index finger operated

but warmth is really the only useful function they have,

but hey...they look cool...i get them on my sled

The Polaris hand guard really mount up well and look slick. But they didn't last long for me. I'm thinking about investing in the ROX hand guards. I say "investing" because they are not cheap. But they get good reviews.

They also protect your hands from getting smacked by branches all day too...

Went thru this same thing last year. Tried stock, skinz and finally broke down and bought the ROX Flex tek. Best handguards ive used to date. Only downside is the price. Bought I have rolled my sled many times with these with no problems.

Used RSI on last 2 sleds. Roll my machines over all the time (to get stuck) and they've held up great.

I put on powermadds. With their snowmobile kit. I mounted the throttle sude on the bend where the kill switch is and used a wrench to twist it so the hand guard was parallel with the grip.

They are super stiff. Cant see the mounts moving but possibly the guards breaking off in a bad roll over into a old track or something.

Don't waste your time or money. Just buy the ROX the first time and then you only need to get one set. Chris and the guys there are great to work with if you have problems or questions!!

If you're doing a lot of backcountry riding anything but rox will break really fast. My friend broke 3 set last year. Laugh at him every time.

Rox Flex Tec's are the best gaurds that I have used also. Rox basically upgrades the Skinz soft sided hand gaurds by a making a better mounting system and adds a flexible plastic backing to add rigidity.

I've been using the Skinz Pro Series ones for a while now. The protect from "branch whips" and the likes, but they aren't super rigid. But they are primarily for warmth protection on the newer sleds that have no hand protection.

Stay away from the Polaris hand guards whatever you do. I prefer not to have hand guards at all. From experience, the Polaris hand guards are brittle and break easily when cold. A friend of mine hit another friend's hand guard as he was walking by and it broke off. My wife's broke in a mild rollover in soft snow. They are junk that should go directly in the recycle bin in your garage. They will end up there eventually after you break them so you might as well get it over with quickly.

My WIFE broke two sets of the stock ones and she doesn't ride the trees! Try anything else -

Thanks for all the input. Sounds like rox is the way to go. I just can't justify $200.+ for some thing I really don't need. I was hoping there was a good option for under $100

I've broke the mounts a few times, just weld them back up. Posted this pic before but it does tell a story.
