Had a right proper CRAPPY week. (pics)

Sooo, last Friday evening, a few friends and I decided to go for a quick ditch ride by the house to scratch the itch. That quick ditch ride resulted in a life flight to the city for emergency surgury and some hardware in my leg. Broke my Tibia and broke the Fibia in two spots. Doc figures i'm off work until Feb. Soooo, I'm spending the winter useless on my couch. No big deal. When I got home on Sunday night, my dog Indy became UNBELIEVABLY awesome. It's like she knew that I was hurt, and didn't leave my side EVER. She'd stand in front of my leg and protect it, and bark when people came over, etc.

Then, Thursday morning, my life REALLY went to hell. The wife let the dogs out, and later realized there was blood everywhere outside... Came to find Indy got cut up on something, and went into shock. We weren't sure how bad it was, but we rushed her to town anyways. I got a call three hours later from the vet. She looked fine when I left, but took a turn for the worse, and died at about 15:00. I'm a wreck. That dog was my world. Just thought i'd update you guys on what's been happening lately....

My heart and prayers go out to ANYONE that has ever lost a pet.

Always sucks to be out.

I am out for awhile as well.

I have a whole in my leg the size of a quarter to let fluids drain out of my leg, because of an infection. I have had 3 surgerys in 2 months.

Worst part is I have to shove gauze up in the pocket between my leg and skin every morning. No stitches just a big gaping whole. Everyone at thanksgiving was pretty icked out seeing my muscle! lol.

My old man is also out for awhile as well. He shattered his wrist in a 4 wheeling accident in October. He has been the talk of alot of clinics and hospitals around the TC area because they are using his x rays and his case for teaching because it is pretty in depth. He has a ton of hardware in his hand, 5 pins, lots of screws, and 2 dogbone looking bar/plates that run 4 inches or so top and bottom.

That really sucks man! Sorry about the dog and the leg. My buddy just got back into sledding for the first time in about 3-4 years. Just found him a real good deal on a sled and then he slips at work and breaks his ankle in 2 places. Out for atleast 8 weeks. Hasn't even been able to ride the new sled yet!

Damn man ... that is some ****ty *** luck for sure :(

Hope you come out of it ok.

sorry your out for the season and sorry about your dog-:rose:-we have 4 labs and i regret the day coming when we start loosing them--its not quite as bad with old age but a accident really sucks because you never see it coming---we lost my grandaughters favorite horse a few months ago to collic and we were devistated----cheer up man--better days a commin:beer;:beer;

I think many people can relate to how you fee right now! Me included! It will get better!!
I lost my best friend 4 years ago and couldn't bring myself to get another one. My wife asked me many times if we should go look for another and I just kept putting it off. I could never replace Jake!
One day My wife calls me after work and says "Your mom is going to go look at a puppy do you want to go?"
I instantly said no, but something inside told me to just go along and see!
We now have two of the most wonderful little beagles ever! Brother and sister.

I realize now what I missed in the years I didn't have a pooch! Unconditional love and companionship! That wagging tail and wet nose that greets you to cheer you up when you get home from a bad day at work! The little puppy eyes that say you're the greatest!

Like you said!

Don't wait!!!! If you do you will just be missing out!!!

Now your wife knows what to get you for Christmas! It would be a huge boost to your mental and physical recovery! Nothing boosts the spirit like a puppy! (puppy breath and all!)

Good luck with both recoveries!!!!!!!!!

wait a minute here! does your wife know about your girl friend that put the new wheels and tires on your truck a month ago.LMFO
