Grip Under Footwell

I like to use the foot well (metal tube) to hold my foot down when carving the opposite direction. Sometimes (end of day when tired) my foot constantly slips out, just trying to get some ideas to getting some grip on the aluminum (underside) to keep my foot in the footwell.

Hopefully this makes sense.....

Stair grip tape, which is a lot like stake board tape. It usually comes in different textures or aggressiveness and I've seen it in black and grey. Our local Ace Hardware store carries it.

One caution point. I put grip tape under the rear bumper and snow sticks to it and ices up. May have the exact reverse effect you want. If it does not ice up it may cause your foot to not come out fast enough in those OH SHEET times. Just a thought.

Good point!

I try to NOT lock my feet in. Hit something in a meadow a few years ago while carving hard and snapped my fibula about 20 miles from the truck. Made for a long, long ride back in the dark to boot.

X2 fortunately I wasn't dragged down hill but when I planted the sled on its side in the snow it pushed my lower leg back locking me in the stirrup. Put enough pressure on my leg that I couldn't even bend enough ahead to dig out in front of my shin so I could get my foot unhooked so to speak and lay there helplessly until buddy decided to ride over to see if I was ok and dig my leg free.

you might try a small self tapper in each one and see if its enough to help without locking your boot in...........

You guys are bringing up a good reason not to put anything on it. I would rather have my foot slip out than risk injury. Thanks

coming from dirt bikes and quads it was natural for me not to want to hook my feet into sleds when i got on them, as it is they can grab you so why make it worse sliding your feet in a slot? allways scared the hell out of me.
