GRIP HEATERS AND ELECTRICAL GREMLINS

I get lots of PM's from people that have electrical gremlins of one sort or another...

One of the common issues is that they loosened or twisted their throttle block or left hand controls to better fit them.

When doing this, you will often tear out or tear-through the wires going to the grip heaters and short them out on the bars.

The factory fits the grip heater wires into the controls with very little "wiggle room"... if you twist the controls.. you have a good chance of damaging things... regardless of brand.

Look things over closely before you try to adjust the position.

Also, after you crash... and the controls are twisted on the bars... check the wires carefully before you twist them back into position and after you have them back...

IMO, if this happens, spend a little time checking this out back in the shop or trailer to see that damage to the fragile connections on the grip-foil or wires has not occurred... fix it if you find problems.

In this age of Computer controlled sleds... these electrical shorts can cause BIG, expensive problems if not tended to... and the warranty on your sled will not cover accidental damage like this.
