Ideas or methods on how to grill corn on the cob?

Wife wants some for her birthday tomorrow and I gotta make it good.

We do it all the time..

Pull the husks back and butter up the corn or season it with favorite seasoning if you want. Be sure and get most of the silk out that you can then re-husk and tie up with a cooking string to keep in place. Grille and enjoy:beer;

When we do it.. I usually soak them for about 2-3 hours in just plain ol'water.. thats the way i was taught i guess.. works great.. pull the husks back just a bit.. add in butter/salt/pepper/creola seasoning.. replace the peeled husks... and cook.. :D

don't remove the husks at all....just throw them ears on and wait. they steam themselves.

- lightly open the husk and poor water down the hatch.....this will steam and help to not burn the corn
- keep the corn a distance away from extreme temps, it should take 1ish hours is done right
- we nver use butter, the grill will make the corn naturally sweet and tasty as hell......****in good chit yo:)

best way i have found is clean it and dip in water and wrap in tin foil. i think that is better then grilling it in the husk.it will stay warm for an hour in the tin foil too.
just had a guy tell me that make a little tray out of tin foil put it on the grill and with a little olive oil and salt and pepper and cook. roll them back and forth untill done.

As a classically trained chef I will tell you which way has worked best for me...

Completely shuck the corn and get a pot of well salted water boiling. You are going to "par boil" the corn which means you are going to place it in the water for about 3-4 minutes fully submerged. The corn then goes straight into a bowl of salted ice water to stop the cooking process. This can be done ahead of time. When you are ready to cook brush it lightly with olive oil and then grill until warmed thru with a little bit of grill marks for flavor.

Butter or not is up the chef but good corn should be plenty sweet and need little more.

Good luck...and happy B day to the wife!

Just throw them on the grill and rotate them once in a while. The husk will start to turn brown/burned but don't worry as the corn will be fine. Takes a while to cook them so start them before the rest of the bbq.

Soaked in water and never touch the husk, throw em on the grill cook 20 minutes turning once. :beer;:beer;:beer;

ok, heres the deal:
soak the whole cob, husk and all in water for a couple hours.. remove from the water and peel the husk but, LEAVE THE HUSK ATTACHED.. take some honey, butter, salt and pepper and melt it soften in up in the microwave.. brush the mixture on the cob and pull the husks back up, wrap in foil and throw them on the grill.. GUARANTEED TO BE THE BEST CORN YOU EVER ATE!!!
