Went there last Sunday and was pleasantly surprised.
Decent snow going up from snow-park in the morning but some dirt coming back down, not bad overall though. Very few people and good snow up top.
The gate was closed at the snow park last Sunday.
You have to step down to access the cabin now at gov't meadows, it should last a while now.

The wood is down to maybe 6 rounds, might be a good thing when it's gone.
We will try to get back up with bobsled and bags to do a pickup run soon,
I'll happily recycle the cans.

We were up Tuesday - stellar day. We were the only tracks up there all day except for a NYTRO, he was by himself and left early. 16-24 inches of new. Always fun to get to the cabin and not a single track anywhere.
Parked at the end of the pavement, by-pass was tricky in the morning, but slush when we came out. I guess they closed the gate at the end of the pavement to keep the 4x4's from going up ?? It was thin at the end of the day coming back down for about a mile above the gate.
Garbage inside the cabin - same ole story, people are just pigs I guess. Used to think it was mainly the beer drinkers, but there are water bottles, pop cans, and even empty food containers. Don't get me started. If I had a big garbage bag with me I would have (some - more than one bags worth ) hauled it out.
Oh , what I meant to say is it was bad - head to GC !!

Still grooming even
There is even some grooming still happening. The groomer was up on Wednesday, and should be running again today (Friday). Also, one or two more days sometime next week depending on conditions. Forest Service should keep the gate closed at the snopark as long as there is still snow on the road and we are still using the snopark.

I took one bag a while ago
Actually it wasn't me, my 13 yr old daughter took a bag down a month or so ago and she complained that the back of the sled smelled like beer.
We tied a gabage sack to the back of the two seater and down we went.
I had to restraighten the sack a couple of times on the way down. It must have been drunk cause it just kept sagging over to the side.
I have used the sacks in the past (on a limited basis) and I felt compelled to take a sack down. I took down more than I have used. probably be a while till I am even again.
I usually bring back everything I take up the exception is what goes in one of these sacks.
