Is there enough snow to get to whistlin jacks from greenwater? I have not made it over for the famous Thursday night prime rib special this year! Just curious if anyone has made it over recently. I imagine ice hill is probably more ready to get its name changed to mud hill, but just wondering if the rest of the trails to get there are useable.

Hey Augerin How many miles to wj from elk hts? I've done the one from greenwater side I'm doing a lot more riding out of ellensburg lately and wj is always a good stop.. Where do you unload and is it something that a couple of riders could find without a guide?
Elk Heights to WJL is 51 miles via Tri-pod....70 miles via groomed trail over Barber Springs....Unload at the Sno-Park on the south side of I-90 at Exit 93.....Gates are closed 4 miles in, head over the hill just before Tank Meadow and tie into Cedar Creek......I can get you pointed the right way if I'm around.....
If riding out of E-burg, you'll save trail miles by launching from Taneum or S. Fk. Manastash.
I have never tried getting there from the cle elum side. I am going to poke around online and look for map or gps directions and try coming up from that side sometime soon. I assume the gas station is still open every day at jack's?

I almost hate saying this but we had a killer ride to jacks last night, (from greenwater) groomed like a race track on both sides. Never seen it that nice in 30 years up there. short on snow the first mile out of greenwater but plenty on the other side. Both groomers are to be commended, you couldnt do a better job.
