Great snow and more on the way to Thunder Mountain Lodge

I was riding all day in untracked snow all around the lodge up here on the Grand Mesa. We are expecting about a foot of snow here in the next few days with cooler temperatures. Keep an eye on our snow stake camera to follow this storm or just come out. Anybody that books a 3 night or more stay gets at least a half day guide for free. thundermountainlodge.net/snow

Worthless without pics. I am pretty sure your fresh untracked snow didn't exceed about 6 inches and besides that it hasn't snowed on the western slope for about a month now. You also must be looking at a different forecast than I am because I do not see a foot of anything coming this way.

Are you sharing snow reports with Lisa from wildskies? LOL

FYI, the Mesa got around 10 inches a few days ago. We also rode sick DEEP snow on Leon Peaks Boulder fields.

Thunder Mountain Lodge

Well, the snow I was riding yesterday was several feet deep, and had not been ridden yet this season. My trenches were several feet deep. Last night NOAA said over a foot in the next 3 days, now it looks like less than that. I had a great time riding yesterday, deep untracked snow. Even with 6 inches on top of what we have it will be super fun. I prefer riding during the spring in the mountains to early or even mid winter. I find I can ride much more aggressively and avoid the unseen rocks and things that are more common during those times. I also like to be able to climb steep hills and ride trees without just getting totally buried on a 20 degree slope. Thanks

Deep up here.

We have between 1 and 3 feet so far from this storm. I have drifts in the parking lot that are thigh deep. Still snowing hard and windy. thundermountainlodge.net/snow
