GREASE !

I used poly for quite a few years and had good luck with it. I started buying from a new supplier and went back to a light based lithium. No grease related problems with either. The lithium based grease is a little stickier and seems to be more washout resistant. On sleds look for a light base grease with high washout qualities. These new sealed bearings come pretty void of much grease. I do not like moly for sleds. It will cake over the summer. Most any synthetic works well.

I don't recall the source, either a bearing supplier or manufacturer, but they said sealed bearings should not have grease added to them. They said the bearings contain X amount of grease because the balls need to turn inside the bearing and if there is too much grease the balls will slide rather tan turn.

On another note, there are waterproof greases out there and I wonder how those perform for normal sled greasing applications like spindles, suspension.
