Went for our Christmas trip and as usual stayed at Grand Mesa Lodge . The new Owners Mike and Rose are great people and we really enjoyed the hospitality. Mike and Rose took us in like family and made sure we enjoyed our visit. :face-icon-small-hap
Trails were recently groomed but have seen the travels of the holiday weekend crowd. With snow conditions what they are they held up fairly well. We found many places to play in the powder on the Mesa but them rocks are out looking for A Arms. Snow is a very dry snow with not much of a base. Snow depth varied so much every where we went. The N facing slopes and playing in the trees is your best bet.
Grand Mesa Lodge is a great place to stay. The cabins are always clean, warm, and have full kitchens. If you want them higher end type accommodations this is not the place, but if you want to ride from your cabin and have a good time this is it. Our dog even had a good time.
The local club should get the new groomer this next week. Ken is working hard on the groomer along with the dealer. NOW WE JUST NEED SNOW!!!!

I was across from your cabin. We went east from the lodge the first day and found wayyy to many rocks. Going west though we found huge powder fields the lodge owners sent us too. Part of our party went night riding, sorry if they woke you. We had enough fun we are going back in Feb or March.

Lodge

We found snow to the E. and had a blast on the W. end of the mesa. Hit a rock on the way out and bent a A arm. Will look into the damage tommorow We will be back in Feb. also. Should have enough snow to cover anything by then.
You guys never woke us and it was good meeting you all.
