Got a photo radar ticket from Hinton Alberta

You guys are far too serious on here now. All you members who are yacking back about speeding , chime up and tell us honestly how many tickets you have had. If I am speeding and a cop pulls me over and gives me a ticket, I'm fine. THe photoradar is just too lazy to be effective enforcement.

The best part of the trip to Edmonton was the nicer roads and higher speed limits.

Triple, I think everyone here knows you are blowing off steam beause you are pissed with your own stupidity. I react the exact same way when I get a ticket. Nobody to blame except the driver.

BTW, be careful what you ask for. If we start phasing out photo radar, then you start getting real tickets with real points. A photo radar ticket is a cheap reminder to be more careful.

I myself don't agree with photo radar for a couple of reasons...

First of all, you don't get your punishment immediately because it comes in the mail, and you think... hmmm was I driving down that road that day?
You can't even defend yourself against it because it happened waay back.
But they seem to remember that their unit was calibrated that morning.... It's like diciplining your dog a week after it crapped on the carpet....

Second of all, they are sitting in their car, and it is idling away all day in the wintertime. When the anti idling law becomes a reality in my town, I am gonna see if they defend it on them...

I think it is a total cash grab opportunity.

I believe I deserve a ticket if I get caught speeding, but not 2 months later.

Cash Grab? You bet, it is in no way a deterent to speeding. But it is the lesser of 2 evils when it comes to getting pulled over and receiving demerits. I cannot tell you how much I dislike the dog catchers disguised as sherrifs on our Highways. The reason for them is what? They only just got the power to hand out 24hrs suspensions! All they can do is dish out tickets. The more they hand out the better they look. If the government really cared about making roads safer, they would twin them! The people that travel Hwy 63 would all agree.

photo radar is the same as the lottery - it is a voluntary tax. The nice thing is that we each get to decide if we want to pay it.

Edmonton had 2,000 speeding tickets alone on Monday. Just as much as Aug put together. That should help with twining the deathtrap

there was a guy in libby driving a lifted scout with i think 35's that got pulled over wednsday and i asked him what it was for and he said " 26 in a 25 " but it had idaho plates so im guessing thats why they pulled him over, i go through town at 30 in a 25 all the time and most of the time the cops are passing me lmao


103 bucks thats it? wow i got pulled over for doing 63 in a 50 back in washington and it was 144 bucks! :O my entire pay check
