Got a jingle noise coming from the front and i can't find it.

I've experienced two seperate "dinkling" noise issues and ended up finding and solving them both....

1. Recoil rope handle is supposed to have a rubber band around the base of the handle that keeps it from rattling around on the steel rope guide just under the handle... I found the rubber band had slid down the rope and was on top the recoil.

2. On a seperate ocassion I could hear a real small noise of some sort and ended up finding the plastic recoil rope guide that screws into the recoil case had back out and was rattling on top of the recoil. This has come out twice!

Good luck.. I hate noises!!

I have a noise in my Assault. It sounds like it is coming from the under the handle bars. It sounds like ice chips floundering around under the hoop. I would not say it is a jingle. It drive me nuts and I can not even imagine what would sound like big ice chips flopping around.

Remove and disassemble your primary clutch and see if you spring is broke, I took mine apart tonight and the spring is broke with 300 miles on the sled.
Iam just sayin!

guess what sound this is........

ok, here's my take:

only happens at idle, '11 assault

sounds like its coming from primary but

reminds me of a shim behind the secondary vibrating...pennies in a jar.

ps.........the ski loops do make a crazy vibration but its a different, lower pinch..like a "thudding" and very annoying none the less

jingling

Last ride i noticed a jingling in the front end of mine. Completely tore it apart today the only thing i found that could have possibly made the noise i was looking for was the retaining clip that holds the brak pads in. I put a dab of high temp silicone in the holes that it goes through in the caliper. Have to wait till the next ride to verify that was my issue.

I had an issue like this on my old iq. On each side of the bottom mount for the front track shock there are small washers. they fit loose and vibrate and jingle while the sled idles. I could hold them with my fingers and it stopped.

i have the same thing on my 12, I have looked everywhere and can't find it. Just changed the primary set up and everything is good in there. This is driving me nuts!!

I got a 12 assault, it had the jingle @ idle, yday sleddding some P/Ls @ work she made the biggest bang I ever heard out of a sled granading:target:, coolent out the exhaust, reed petals out the exhaust, booked in tomorrow to get looked @, seems that I separated a rod and put a hole in the crankcase didn't even know the was so many lights on the dash, they all lit up. will update what the dealer found, tomorrow evening

If it comes and goes is it possible that it does it when the sled is thawed but ice or snow in the skid or front end make it go quiet. Might give you some ideas to look for. My old Apex did something like this and it was the dzus fasteners and retainer clips they go in to that hold the body panels on. Once they got wore a little they made that type of sound. I fixed it with small nylon washers from the bolt bins at the hardware store. Good luck. EW

I backed my 2012 800 out of the shop the other day with the side panel off, I could hear a jingle noise. When I looked down I could see the spider jam nut spinning loose. Put the sled in forward and drove it back inside, when I got in the noise was gone. The jam nut spun back into place. Maybe for some of you this is why the noise is coming and going?

I have heard a jingling noise from both my 05 900 and 09 700 IQ intermittently and agree that it does sound just like someone jingling keys... I have no idea where it is coming from and have looked at everything I can possibly think of:confused: I know what the ski tips rattling sounds like and what a loose spider nut sounds like as I have heard/seen both first hand and this is different (not the problem).:face-icon-small-con

09 800 RMK, and I feel like its coming from the secondary on my sled.

Mostly when I take off and am getting the sled going.

Maybe the washers in the secondary?

found my jingle noise. it was the zippers rattling around on my cargo bag i had attached to my tunnel rode this weekend with out the bag and noise was gone put the bag on and could hear it.

Riding in McCall this week notice that just above idle at like 2800 maybe 3000 there's a nice from right under the hood by the vents that sounds like a solenoid opening and closing its like and electrical clicking noise mine and both my buddies pros do it. Not sure if this is what you are talkling about or not but I think its normal. Not sure what it is is but if anyone knows I would like to know what kinda noises my sleds making for my own info.
