gooseneck trailers

I am looking to upgrade from a 4 place enclosed sled trailer to a 6 place gooseneck trailer. Does anybody know of any manufacturers that make some. I think I would prefer an aluminum trailer with triple axles. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Your going to need a monster to get six in a goose...most like mine are actually car haulers so the fender wells come into play. I can put four modern long track sleds in my 32ft Pace Shadow GT V nose goose (24 x 8 ft of flat cargo deck). Two front and two pointing backwards. That all said I love my gooseneck hauler for sledding. While it's physical weight is heavy it's handling and manueverability is second to none. Great combo and I highly recommend it if you have a vehicle that can handle the load.

I like your trailer! I might have to go that route if none of these others work out. Trails West make a gooseneck sled trailer. Its a 28' deck steel framed with an aluminum skin. They are suppose to be releasing a new model the is 4-6 feet longer come september. Charmac might also be able to custom make me one. I'll know more from them on Tuesday.

I think most brands make steel ones, but unsure on the aluminum ones. Couple guys I know have 8.5 x 40 car haulers that work great. One of them that I go with trips on has a big side ramp door that works great for going out with the sleds. That fits six with ease, all in the same way I believe. I've been looking at 8.5 x 36 to get 5 long tracks without working too hard at it. Always pull it with Single wheeled cummins, Pulls great, 90's all day!!

I can get 5 163 longtracks in mine. Its a 29 foot bumper pull. (24 ft square 5 ft V) 2 forward and 3 backwards. Reverse helps alot.

You could also look at the ATC (Aluminum Trailer Company) and I think Motiv is also an all aluminum trailer. Steel frame is going to be a dime a dozen, but like Sledfreak said, you definitely better prepare yourself for sticker shock when trying to find 30+ feet of aluminum framed trailer. I have a 42' GN with about 25' of shop space and can fit 4 151+ easily. If I took out the cabinet I could probably sqeeze a 5th sled in. Figure a 42' would suit you perfect for 6 sleds (34' shop area) and you would have 8' of upper deck for gear and stuff.

As for manufacturers that could do goosenecks:

Pace
Haulmark
ATC
Continental Cargo
Featherlite
Trails West
Motiv??
United Trailers (United Specialties, United Express)
Classic Manufacturing
Freedom Trailers LLC

I have been talking to a few of the trailer dealers in my area and it seems that a snowmobile trailer in a goose neck all aluminum is gonna have to be custom built, which I will have to pay through the nose to get. I am not a fan of the wheel wells inside the box which is why I kinda have been steering away from the car hauler style of trailers, but it seems that a car hauler is the only way that I can get the kind of length that I was originally wanting.

I was talking to a guy at Trails West and he said that for the 2012 trailers that are coming out in September they are releasing a 34ft (I think he said) goose neck snowmobile trailer. I am still checking around with other trailer manufacturers when I get time to see what it would cost to have it made out of aluminum but a snowmobile version. Trails west and charmac would not build one out of aluminum but I will get a hold of some of the other manufacturers that you guys have mentioned and see what they have to say. Thanks for the input!

Best all aluminum trailer made is by www.hillsboroindustries.com My car trailer and sled hauler is 12 years old and still looks like new. They use extruded double wall planks for the sides. I cant stand the wavey looks of the thin tin on other brands. They look so cheap. You can mount things any were you want and dont have to worry about it tearing off. The gooseneck has a slide out and i have way to many things in it. But it is my shop on wheels in Wy. If any one wants one i can get you price.

One thing to remember is make sure you buy from a mfg that builds GN trailers on a regular basis or you will get some body's experiment and a nightmare! Trails west builds a hellof a trailer and so will Charmack I can get 5 in my 24' deck Trails west and might get a 6th if I work at it.. (2 162" Apex 1 162 Nytro and 2 153" Phasers and a SNo Scoot so 5 and 1/2 sleds)

Five YAMAHAS? What the heck do you tow that thing with and how do you get past the load limits?:becky::becky:

I actually had Trails west Lift my trailer so it would clear my bed rails better for the terrain I go to.... they weren't to keen on the idea because of the ramp angle but it is no worse that any other mfger out there it was nice before but not bad now.

as for load limits .... I just think light.....:boxing:

Trails West will be offering a 34ft. gooseneck this fall. I know because I work there. If you are worried about rust, I suggest you look at one of the Trails West RPMs that has been in service for 2 seasons. I bought one from the very first production run in 2009 and there is very little rust. The rust that is there is underneath the the trailer and is not visible unless you bend down and look under the trailer. The exterior skins including the ramps and roof ARE ALUMINUM on Trails West RPM trailers. The steel frame is much less prone to cracking than aluminum, and the weight difference is very minor (your truck won't be able to tell the difference).:face-icon-small-ton

Like my hefty buddy with small feet says when he's trying to walk around in five feet of fluff. "I"M A FEATHER...I"M A FEATHER...I"M A FEATHER"

You must have gotten some solid rubber wheel barrow tires to handle that load!

That outfit will leave a rut on dry pavement!
