Goodyear Duratracs

Whos running them? I am torn between these and the Toyo MT's. I really want the Toyo RT's but I can't get them for 3-4 months.... Looking at 35's or 325's for my SD.

If u can wait 3 or 4 months it will be worth it. I put TOYO RT on my New 350 super duty and love them.

1800 mi. on mine on a Ram 3500. Wish I had my Fierce Attitudes back but couldn't get them for the 20" rims. Mine are studded and while they get around good, I don't feel like they have the traction or handling of the FA. I may catch flak for saying that, but I had 2 sets of Fierce Attitudes on my last truck and got 45 k out of the first set towing heavy loads on lots of gravel and bad winter roads. I have never loved a tire like those and so far am disappointed in these. I've heard rumors that they don't wear well either, but I guess time will tell...

There was a good thread on tires here just before Xmas. I bought Toyo AT2's. I know you asked about MT's but from what I have read a lot of people didn't like MT tires in the snow/ice in general. The Toyo AT2's are aggressive for an AT tire IMO. So far they have been great, good bite, looks good and I've been dragging my trailer through the snow and ice very well. My $.02

Can't speak from experience on the mt or any of the other tires mentioned but I've ran duratracs on my last 2 super Duties. They wore like iron on my Spartan tuned dually had almost 40k on them when I traded it off and close to 50% left currently have 18k on current set on f350 single rear wheels. Bout 60-70% definately not wearing as good as last set but traction is great night and day better than factory tires. Just put a set on my wifes ecoboost half ton and it too is night and day better she loves them. She's not as nervous on bad roads now. I've ran a lot of different tires mostly aggressive tread tires and duratracs are by far my favorite and for being aggressive they wear darn good. Probably the only tire I will ever run to be totally honest.

Both are great tires. The Toyos are as good or better traction if you sipe the middle treads. Both wear well.

I have about 2500 miles on my 275/65r20 duratracs on my 2500 ram. Maybe 500 towing and 1000 in snow and ice. Mine are also siped.

I absolutely love them. Best tire I've ever run on snow and ice.

I have run BFG AT, Toyo MT, BFG MT, Cooper ST, ProComp MT and Xtreme MT.

Duratracs are great. Will definitely buy again. I would also consider Toyo RT and Cooper ST Maxx as well. The Duratrac sizes are limited.

I put about 30k on a set of 265/70-17 studded Duratracs. They were a little more than half worn out when I took them off. I liked them a LOT. They're not AS good as a real, dedicated snow, but they're close (and do have the "mountain/snowflake" symbol).

Downsides:

1. The rear tire sway/squirm that you'll read about happened to me, too. After 500ish miles, it went away, but towing my trailer with them (10k#) was...eh. Not BAD. Nowhere near bad, but the Michelin LTX MS2s are a far superior towing tire.

2. MPG - lost about 2mpg going to the Duratrac, got it back when I put my Michelins on.

It is by far and away the best "do _everything_" tire I've come across. A real snow is better in snow. A real highway tire is better on the highway. Duh. Need on set to do all of it? They're a great choice.

Good for a year duratracs were the fastest wearing tires I ever put on a truck. 1/16'' tread left in 24000 miles. Stay away if you spend any time on gravel.
Fyi I put 78000 on the Michelin at2s I put on the same truck after the good year fail.

I'm running Toyo At2 in 35's on my 2500. All around best tire I have ever used. Quiet on the highway, aggressive for an AT, and been awesome on snow/ice.

I ran the orginal TOYO AT's on my Superduty and loved them. I've got the Duratracs on currently and like them as well. I don't think they are wearing as well and the mileage isn't as good but all around they are fine. I wanted a more aggressive tire this time which is why I switched. I also like having the snowflake rating. I have a friend with the TOYO MT's and he doesn't like them. I heard a lot people say the traction on wet and icy conditions isn't great. The RT's do look nice. If it wasn't for our local snoparks not being plowed that great, I would have stayed with the AT's.

I run 315's and love them. I run a lot of gravel, and they do like to throw rocks. 20k on them and half or little better tread left. Great on snow and ice. Look into fierce attitude MT's. Used to run them and they were awesome tire IMO.

I run duratracs on my work truck, 2500 duramax fully loaded running gravel oilfield roads half the time and highway the other half. my first set got 55K on them. On my second set now with 30k. I really like them, seem to do good in all conditions and aren't too loud on the highway.

I run 285/70-17 Duratracs on my Dodge. I have two friends with two sets each on their Toyotas, even a couple of those sets studded. They see mud, ruts, rocks, snow and plenty of highway. Some of the best all around tires I have ever owned.

I have Duratrac 275/70R18s on my Silverado and they get a lot of driving time primarily back roads/off road. They are my absolute favorite tire so far and have well exceeded my expectations for life. I currently have 62,000 on them and while they are definitely at the end of their lifespan I still get comfortable traction and will be finishing the winter on them before buying a new set this spring once riding season is over. I don't think I will run a different tire again as long as these are available. Only trouble I have had is they do tend to sway a bit and I needed them rebalanced after about 20,000 but that can be expected from time to time when tires wear. I also regularly rotate my tires.
