Good boondockin in the Sierra Madre?

Going to stay in Encampment and try S.M. Is there just as good boondockin places their as there are in the Snowies? Been staying at Winter Creek and riding out of Green Rock but want to know if the extra drive over to encampment is worth a trip to try S.M.

No summit store on that side of mnt. but the riding is awesome. I go every chance I get, don't tell anyone about this lets keep it a sceret.

Ya keep it a secret.. Great boondocking I would take it over the Snowies. Its not as big but some great spots where it can take you hours to get up top. Also very easy to get lost.. bring a good GPS.

Ouch!!! It hurt to be a greenie...way to far to drive a for a weekend. I have been riding up there for the past 4 yrs, it is a terrible place to ride with no accomodations everyone should stay away.

I agree with jackeduty... Its a horrible place and I will never go back there again..
