Golden Area. Worth a 5hr drive?

Anyone with any report on Quartz,gorman or other areas. Want to go out, but not get there and have concrete to ride on.. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! We have to travel about 5hrs to get to golden.

the Golden conditions thread sees pretty frequent updates. Depends what you are into, if you want to climb the biggest hills then there isn't much available, all the snow blew off those slopes in high winds a few weeks ago. Boondocking and tree riding is still pretty darn good in my opinion.

We blew right by Golden Yesterday when we went for our day ride to Keystone. 13 hrs driving, 6hrs sledding.
I don't think the conditions in Golden are the greatest right now. If you drive that far you might as well go 2 more hours and ride in good snow.

Was out at Golden last weekend - snow was the thinnest I've seen it in a long time. Gorman was windswept and rocky......Quartz is probably not a lot better right now.... They just havn't had the snow this year....
