Going To Try This Tow Strap For My PRO RMK

I am just throwing this out here because I thought these were a good deal. I mainly want them to use as slings but I also need a tow strap. 2"x20' 3,333 pounds working load limit and a breaking strength of 10,000 pounds. Which means 5,000 pounds of towing capacity. I don't know of any sleds that weigh that much. I know there is a joke in there somewhere. Anyway, $2.99/strap after rebate at Menards.

In this situation, never cut a Ty-Rap. Twist them. If you cut them it will leave a razor sharp edge.

Nice snug fit. No movement at all. I hope I never have to use it.

I usually just tow with two short straps from ski loops to bumper.
Like >2" between.
That way you don't need a rider on the towed sled.

Tow buddy FTW

waiting for some of our "friends" from the other forums to tee off on this thread ;)

anyway, great idea to have more than one strap. We have pulled sleds out of some deep holes and found that the best way to do it is hook 2 sleds up in line and then hook up the dead sled at the end of the line.... did that make sense? basically hook up 3 sleds all in a row, dead sled in the back. Anyway, if it did not make sense and you are curious shoot me a pm and I will draw you a picture. The two riders in the front have to be coordinated - especially the guy in the middle.

Cheers,
Perk

Those straps work wonders for getting sleds unstuck. A bunch of guys working together can get just about anything unstuck pulling on one of those.

A guy blew a corner one weekend and his beavertail rev it was 20+ feet off the trail and 20 feet down an almost straight up river bank. 5 of us pulled that sled up the embankment in quick time.
