READ...

go through this thread thoroughly and it will tell you what to look for..

http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112723

i love the 900, i have both an 05 and 06...but some hate them....but those that have them and mod them are the true fans and the ones that are here to help you if you do decide to get that torque monster...

just make sure you dont go into it blind...LOOK IT OVER DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!

What questions should i ask? What should i look for? Its got 1700 miles on it.

Thanks!

First question I would ask is "Why am I looking at a 900 RMK?"

I'd go for an 07 Dragon 700.

Unless you ___REALLY___ know how to wrench on a sled and know what you're getting into with one of these, you don't want one.

Read as much as you can of the stickies (unfortunately not all of them are working right now) and be sure to look everything over with a fine tooth comb. They can be awesome sleds if maintained well, or they can be a headache, either way, information is your friend.

You'll find many people in the 900 forum do love these sleds, myself included, they make some pretty good power when set up right:D:D

If your good with a wrench buy it you won't regret it. When you need help come to the 900 section tons of people here that know there stuff and will answer any question you have about it.

So pretty much its a love it or hate it type of deal. And theres no guarantees of me getting a "good one" so to speak? I dont mind wrenching as long as i have good instructions.. hahah j/k. But really. Wrenching is half teh fun right?

Another thing we seem to have overlooked...

What kind of riding do you plan to be doing with it?

Mountain, off trail, deep powder, some hills........ nothing too extreme.. but I still want the extra power

I know this machine gets alot of bad press. But is it really that bad? Or is it just that you dont hear about the good ones? They cant all have issues can they? Or is this just wishful thinking? And yes i have read the stickies. Top to bottom.

Its as simple as taking the time and money to do the correct set up and maint.

A bone stock 900 is not the best sled ever but a well modded one is an animal and the price point is right for these sleds. 3800 is to much IMO unless its very mint which may not be good either. It could have spend most of its life in the shop. unfortunatly the really imprtant stuff is hard to see from the outside.

An 06 is better than 05 but 1700 miles is close to a top end

I would offer 3250.00 tops if its stock and up depending on mods
