going out of business

haha, yep that sounds like a reliable source.....A Polaris Dealer told my friend who told me..........

No way buddy, Arctic Cat has a new agreement for financing dealer flooring with a new company to be announced to the public shortly. This economy has been hard on any company that manufactures something in the Category of a "Want" versus a "Need" item.

All will be fine, no need to panic right now. Just look at the sweet 2010 models and get ready for the delivery to your dealer!

Cat is still rolling! Maybe not to fast, but its still alive and no plans of quiting. Yes there has been lay offs and yes production has been cut back, but they are doing what they can to stay above water and I think as of now it is working. As some of you saw on the Snowest.com home page the salary for the CEO has been cut back just like alot of other things this year. Like UpJohn said there is new financing in the works. Lets just hope for snow! Cat is not producing many snowmobiles and actually hasnt even started for this fall yet. Very limited amounts of sleds will be built that havent already been pre ordered. So that should drive the value up a little bit if there is any demand!

In conclusion, NO Arctic Cat is not going out of business, but yes they have been down on production and they are really just adjusting to the current business climate. If you look back to when Cat went down in 82 they kept building snowmobiles full bore with hopes and dreams of selling them. Well they didnt sell and they were stuck with them. They over produced. History is repeating its self, but this time cat knows what NOT to do.

Thats pretty twisted sales tactics if he was trying to sell your friend a sled, i think polaris should come up with a way to fix those broken 800's or they may be in trouble soon. they are good sleds not knocking them but buddy went through 5 motors this year, i think 2010 will be a good year for AC giving the state of the economy.

I liked it better when snowhawkaddict couldn't post, nothing smart ever comes out in his posts:D

Maybe AC should follow Polaris' business plan of making unreliable sleds and making a killing selling replacement parts!!

going out of business!

My father has sold arctic cat since 99' we have gone through the 600 piston and crank issues and some minor few other engine problems on the early 800 apv's, so many people were pissed, they left cat to go ride polaris and skidoo, only to have to deal with the never ending polaris crank problems, oh wait skidoo has had them too. I just ask my self all the time why did so many people get mad at cat about a problem they fixed and it nearly bankrupted them, to go to two brands that have had problems ever since the traded that old 98 ps in. It didn't seem like a big deal to have to tear your sled apart to have someone make a double bearing just to do it again in two months. Now with all the 800 polaris engines down those guys still will talk up there dragons and there weakly build xp even though there die hard cat buddy still has a slead to ride every weekend with no problems! Can someone answer this question I have had for a long time!

I could see AC getting out of the ATV side of things. To be honest, thier ATV's never were all that great of a product compared to the sleds they produce.

I was joking the other day with a Bass Pro guy wondering when they are going to start selling AC sleds with thier ATV's. He commented they were considering dropping AC all togather ?

Hope they survive the wirl wind
