From what I could see today, Blackstone Bay and Shotgun Cove still had snow down to the water in quite a few places. If you PM me where you're hunting I could probably be more helpful.

It is a normal year out there (little less snow than last year). I have been out there this month as my "xb" (xtra-belts) is STILL waiting for clutch parts. There is a little less snow than last year. Areas with good southern exposure will be fine. Areas with protection (like Bettles Lagoon) still have copious amounts of snow. Once you are out there, it is easy to see where the good areas are. I am heading out tomorrow and staying out until around June 1st.

just left whittier... rode over to blackstone bay... tried everything to get to sea level... not happening. Looks like if you ride by the step up and around that larger mountain... never been back towards the end of the bay... but if you can get around back there, that snow goes to sea level. I saw a couple sets of bear tracks when i was trying to get down to the cove... no bears tho.

Bring gas.... good luck.
