goggles...who makes a good one

i'm not interested in 509 goggles (sorry tom)

who makes a good goggle?

scott
motorfist
klim
oakley

others...

i'm looking more at oakley, who runs some oakley goggles and which ones?

I've always favored Scott Otg. The over the glasses feature gives more air even though I don't wear glasses.
I was given 509's as a Christmas present, wore them one hour and hated the quality and fit. Local dealer traded them for three pairs of Scott's......a great gift.

95% of the time, the brand of goggles is not the problem. Its all about keeping your breath from getting into the goggle. Correct fit is key, the goggle has to fit your face and helmet, then the foam has to keep the snow and your breath out.

I have no issues with 509's at all, have 3 or 4 pair I've been using for 4-5 years. The lenses will scratch easy but that is cheap to replace every year or two. Eric

I've got some of the new klim goggles and I honestly really like them, they fit well and the updated lens design doesn't fog much at all. Some folks say the foam is a little on the hard side, but I find them very comfortable and would recommend them to anyone.

The Oakley Airbrake with rose prizm lens is hard to beat. We see a conversion rate of close to 70% of client switching to Oakley after spending one day with us. You will only need one set, I ran one single rose prizm lens in all lighting conditions and never changed the lens the entire season. I also switched back to a non prizm lens in different frame for day and felt like I was blind, the prizm lens is remarkable how it adds contrast in the whites.

You know that is the million dollar question!!

Honestly the best goggle out there is the goggle that works best for "you".

I think there are way to many variables to say there is one goggle that is the best. Everyone has a different face profile, sweat different and heat up at different rates which plays a big part. Now throw in the helmet and how the helmet fits you and the goggle. What works great for one guy, sucks for the next guy.

Best advise, try as many differnet goggle / helmet combos as you can. Buy, try, sell, trade and borrow as many as you can and experitment.

Right now I'm running a Troy Lee Designs SE-3 helmet. As far as goggles, I've had pretty good luck with Dragon goggles and the new Klim's aren't to bad either.

Good luck!!

With goggles it's all about what fits your face and helmet. You ask this kind of question and you are going to get 25 different opinions. You need to go to a shop with your helmet and try on every pair that you are considering buying. Make your own decision on what feels best for your face and helmet.

I agree. Fit is key, maybe not $ or brand.
