gloves.

Just like most have stated...digging gloves (long thick insulated water proof cabela's ones..also my OH CRAP we are camping gloves) and four pairs of FLY riding gloves. Most days never change but with all of this deep wet new snow it's a stick o thon. When you get into "the situation" take your time and change your gloves. Makes for a much happier overall day.

Black Diamond ice climbing gloves. Cant remember the exact model, but they are made specifically for ice climbing. Excellent grip and dexterity and the most waterproof gloves I have found. Even so, I always have an extra pair, but with these I have found I dont need multiple extras even on the wet BC coast.

KLIM KLIM KLIM

Reason: Gore Tex. It is the only material I trust for snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, snowball fighting, etc..

Despite the hype....Klim gloves are not great in my experience. They get wet fairly easily, and once wet they freeze up very easily if cold. Next time I will buy snowboard/skiing brands for less $$ and equal or better performance.

I have Klim gloves, and most days they are OK. I agree on the extra gloves, extra goggles plan. I have some Reima gloves that I really like, but they also get wet after a while when the snow is wet. Like mom always said "Some of the best things in life come in pairs". Extra gloves are no exception.

I'm in the market for some new gloves also. I always carry a few extra pairs with me, for digging, around a fire, etc...but my riding gloves are 8 years old and get wet within a few hours of being in the snow...15min of rain and they are soaked through....plus I find they don't keep my finger tips warm in any temps lower than 0 degrees C...which is 95% of the time.

Anyone have any experience with Arc Teryx Alpha SV gloves or Mountain Hardwear gloves (specifically the Medusa, Bazuka or Typhon gloves) ??

And what about mitts vs gloves? seems mitts would be warmer/more wine resistant but I'd imagine you would lose some control/grip with mitts.

Mitts are definetly warmer....always rocked mitts when boarding and never had cold fingers. I've never ridden them on a sled....not sure I would like them for technical riding....I brake with 1 or 2 fingers for instance. For easy or trail rides I imagine a good pair of mitts would be nice!

Burton Gore Gloves. I carry 2 pair for riding, 1 pair with removable liners and 1 pair without. When we have to dig or work on a sled I carry a pair of insulated Mechanix gloves >>>>.

You guys change your gloves to dig out sleds? I like to get that over with ASAP and just dive right in lol

i like to think of the glove question the same way i think about bringing rubbers to the bar.....sure you might only need one, but if you need two you better hope you got an extra!!!!!

i rock a nice pair of gordinis for the trail ride in/out, pair of kilms for the deep days in the trees, and a pair of thor MX gloves just in case chit gets crazy......

I have have been using a container of Snow Sealer for likely 15 years (half gone) and it has waterproofed all my boots and gloves about every one to two years. Just rub it on good with fingers and then I hit with a hair dryer to melt it in a bit on leather or fabric. Stuff works great!!

Klim powercross gloves worked well for me they get wet on the outside but never got wet or cold on the inside. I had 2 extra pairs in the backpack but never needed them. They are expensive at 90 bucks but were well worth it in my opinion. We had alot of stucks over the weekend

Klim klimate for the trail and 2 pairs of powercross in the sled and on wet days i'll throw another pair in there.

i have had good luck with True Adventure Gear. you can ring them out on a stuck fest and your hands are still dry.

VERY happy with my motorfist valkaries. Most expensive gloves I have ever bought, but also the best. I also have used numberous types of ski-doo gloves, and klim powercrosses. Loving the motorfist, have yet to have wet hands, and wet is the reason for cold 90% of the time.
