Glacier Creek - Hwy 542

Anyone have experience sledding up Glacier Creek off Hwy 542? I've been on the north side of 542 before. Is Glacier Cr mainly road riding or are there some play areas?

thanks, Kordero

We have ridden there. There are play areas and everything that you are looking for it's just not laid right out infront of you like Baker or Bear Paw. Another problem is that when we get the heavy snow years avalanches slide across the road in a couple spots and the groomer stops grooming it due to them.

This video has some stuff shot at Glacier Creek starting at about 1 minute:

The play areas up there are not very big compared to bearpaw in legal riding areas. Last year during a search and rescue mission we were allowed to ride baker from this side, there is alot of awesome terrain up there but unfortunately it is all wilderness on that side.

We've never ridden there, but have looked at it on the map...the biggest issue I see is that the Glacier Creed road runs parallel to the wilderness boundary less than 1 mile to the east.

Glacier Creed Road actually runs into the wilderness boundary at the end of the road. And it looks like most of the high elevation hills are inside the wilderness area. If you ride there, make sure you are in legal riding areas.
