He had already aquired it for the reactor they were building so he could put it online quickly. When Isreal blew it up, he still had the yellowcake, but had no use for it. The santions put in place by the UN put a lot of strain on his ability to get enough money to continue to pay his generals (the guys keeping him in power).

The bottom line. He decided to sell it to the highest bidder (i.e. terrorist orgs) to raise money. No legit org. could buy it because of the trade embargo. He was pretty much left with only one group that he could sell it to.

Sadam actually had to go to the ruling clerics (sorry, I forget the name of the ruling clerics org.) to get permission to sell to terrorists since the use of nuclear material was banned by the org.. They said the use of nuclear weapons or nuclear material was a sin against Alah. He was able to get them to change their minds and give permission as long as it wasn't used in any Arab country.

who knows what he was trying to do...Simple fact though, this is not the timid substance the Main Stream Media is making it out to be...note the article mentions that the clean up of the facility they were stored in, is going to take significant clean up...

think about the impact of this stuff in a cities water supply...rivers...a buildings air ducts, etc. etc.

I'm told by someone "in the know" on this subject that a basketball filled with this stuff, dispursed using conventional explosives off the coast of Wa during certain weather patterns could cause hundreds of thousands of deaths about a week after it is rained down. And that this is one of the WMD's that we knew about before we went to Iraq and one of the first things we got control of. Anyone remember back in about 2002 the 2 middle eastern guys that were tracked by the CIA as they filmed the coast, inlets and bays from Portland to Vancouver BC...where they were arrested only later to be freed as Canada released them because they hadn't committed a crime? They are still out there, and supposedly this was there plan.....according to someone "in the know"
