Hey guys -

Whoever tried out a road ride today (Saturday) up at Hyak or Crystal Springs, please give us the report.
Bonus if you have pictures.

We're trying to figure out if it is worth going up Sunday to shake the cobwebs out of the Sleds...

Thank you!

x2....need a quick road ride to check a few things out on the sled

I sure hope we can get a road ride in on Sunday. Can you use the Kachess snowpark this early in the season or just Gold Creek?

The pass report and live cams are showing snow.
It also shows a winter storm watch with heavy snow.

I don't know what to think - we need somebody to validate.

Free Beer.

I can validate there is snow at gold creek, about 15". As of last night, no one had gone in from the freeway, no tracks in yet. The road was covered. I would say its good to go though.

two tracks going up this morning from GC side quite few from kachess side.

it was a full contact day........buddy tore his trailing arm almost off( hidden rocks)

maybe 6 rigs when we left GC....so not busy but with low snow cover it started get wooped with dirt showing thru already.....we did find lots of fresh 10-16" on the roads but not enough....but thats all pounded down now hehehheheheh

I say stay home!!!!!!! No its worth going up but you are not going to boondock without breaking stuff.

It was better than predicting weather like other people we know!!!

I tried the Cle Elum ridge near Sky Meadows today....About 3 inches when I left the house. Max of 5 or 6 inches on top. Felt every rock on the road. Mainly a "shakedown" run and checking out the reports of Logging near Elk Heights - No logging going on now, looks about the same as the end of Sept. when i was thru on a dirt bike.

One needs to remember, most of these Forest Service roads not closed to vehicles yet. This means 2 things:
1) Be prepared to meet the guy trying out his Jeep of 4X4
2) Technically, a sled can't be on those roads until they are closed, so you (and me) could be cited.

Screw It...

We're bagging it...

Going to wait for more snow - hopefully next weekend will be better.:face-icon-small-sad

We rode Stampede Pass today. Plenty of snow for road riding. Some areas are already groomed. Probably a good idea to stay on the roads though. Only bumped one rock. Easily 18 inches up top.
