Getting unstuck epiphany

I used to do a lot of shoveling to get my 09 700 RMK unstuck. With the PRO, I just pull it over hard on to one side and then stamp snow under the track, then pull it over hard on to the other side and stamp again, put her upright, and then GO. No more shovel assembly for me!

Not a bad idea! I usually just roll mine all the way over if I can, using throttle to dig the track out of the trench, then killing the engine so the throttle doesn't get pinned while the rubber side is up.

I've seen others do exactly this, and it really does work most the time. Sometimes it seems like more work than a shovel and stomping a track out in front though.. :P

I use the roll trick whenever I have a gravity advantage to do so. On a flat stuck, roll obviously isn't as efficient.

Yes this does work well, especially with the pro as its easy to get on its side. Unless like a few weeks ago when we were stuck ina creek and had to shovel each side just to rock it!

"Grasshopper, you shall soon learn that it is not the PRO that is stuck, it is you....only then shall you find true enlightenment."

J/k

I had this same epiphany when I got mine a few years back. Nine out of ten times, if I was "stuck" I could just rock side to side, freeing up the footboards and getting the track on snow, and climb right out of the hole!

I rode the complete season of 2010/2011 with this method, only getting "really stuck" come spring time with wet, heavy snow, that would weigh down the rear skid.

The above was my number one bragging/selling point to anyone who asked how I liked the sled.

I just had the same epiphany yesterday. It's too bad I didn't have it 300 miles ago. We were in snow that was a little too dense and the rear of the track was too deep to roll the sled completely out of the hole so we tried the ' roll it as far to one side as we could, stomp snow under the track and take off ' method. Worked like a charm! Lots of times though you can just rock the sled side to side to free up the running boards and go! They are amazing no doubt!

I do the op's trick when possible

However, I found a better one for almost all applications

Grab your snobunjie, stand to the side, hook the bunjie in one of the rear bumper side holes, pull the bunjie towards the front of the sled, pin the throttle with the other hand and go. Effortless unstuck almost 100% of the time

Basically simulating having someone pull on your skis as well as kind of lifting up the back end to make things lighter. Works like a charm
