Getting Better Track Speed

xtravert drivers, big wheels, clutch kit, can get all those for under a 1000, would help better if you said what year it is too

theres the zx, rev, and xp?

plus you can do searches on here, and find what people are running, its not hard to do that

I stretched it to a 159x16 and in the process i put xtravert drivers in. Ive seen some of the billet big wheel kits and if Im not mistaken, they are pretty spendy. Havent looked into clutch kits yet. My sled is a 2002 so it would be the zx chassis.

That chassis had problems with not having enough room in the tunnel and hydraulicing at the front, the drop and roll was a huge improvement and if done by yourself isn't all that much money.

Less weight in the primary makes it spin more....

Less finish angle in the secondary helix makes it shift out further and spin more faster.

Gear down a tooth or two in the chaincase.

Clean your clutches.

New clutch springs. Just replace the old ones if they have a couple thousand miles on them or if they are just old.

Aside from clutching which is probably #1, disreguard the comment above about removing bogie wheels. Removal of wheels decreases weight on the sled and can make it easier to carve which is nice, but in all actuality makes for more friction between your slides and clips, thus reducing track speed.

clutching and gearing are the BEST way to get more track speed. CLEAN clutches are an almost free 2-3 mph:D...I cleans mine almost every ride use sctchbright on the helix use synthetic oil in chain case(lite as possible . Make sure your track clips and bearing Jack shaft, drive shaft are all in good shape. An idler wheel stuck or sticking can cause grief. Even having a properly aligned track can help. Improve your approach angle, shed some weight,,just for starters;)
