Get Boosted

Anyone know who I should go see to get my nytro turboed. Is this something an average joe can do or do I need a dealer. What is realistic. I think I am ready to boost now. What prices will I be looking at?

Thanks for your responses

Boosted Nytro

We do installs as well as manufacture kits.
Ceramic coated turbo, Ported waste gate, devorced waste gate, Double down pipe, Large blowoff valve, GT2860RS .64 housing, Hindle leight weight muffler, AEM wideband, Boost gauge, Bracket, Boost controler, A complete kit that is the best of power per lb of boost.
I have 900 KMs on my own sled with very happy results. 250-836-4422

You need to tell where you are so someone can direct you to the closest installer.

Installed my own MCX, took a while, to many visitors and wobblies.
Not difficult, just have to be patient. I found the head gasket swap the most difficult.(engine should be removed) At least you become familiar with the sled.:D

Building a Nytro is a simple process. Here is a step-by-step list.

1. Call Mountain Performance and order a supercharger
2. Recruit a friend and spend a solid day installing it.
3. Ride it like you stole it all winter
4. Spend all summer looking at pictures and videos counting the days till the show falls again.

I would personally not do a MPI supercharger. Go with a turbo. MPI had so may problems with the Apex and i really don't know if they have improved much. JMO

I don't think there is much wrong with a MPI Supercharger, they are getting all the bugs out finally. Had a bunch of little problems and wrecked 1/2 of my season with mine. But it flat out goes with no lag, it just rips from the touch of the throttle.

Talked with a few guys with MCXPRESS Turbo's and they seem to be working great.

Also seen Powder Lites system in Revy and it was working good.

Have fun!!!

Elaborate please as I live in Salt Lake and can't get squat from them in terms of "getting all the bugs out". "Just experiment" with the 6 different modes is not my idea of getting the bugs worked out. Reflashed, ran like chit and could not get new baseline settings for the reflashed box. I would not even consider a MPI SC for my next sled

The MPI kit that I have rode this year on the Apex rocks!!!!! Never even touches the EFI box runs 10lbs on pump gas. Will not run with the turbo's with big boost but great for boondocking.

That's GREAT!!! That'll make it that much fast to get our kits from them.If you want boost you have to expect to tinker a little bit,If your not willing to try diffrent things to make it work clearly boost is NOT for you!!!!! So jump on your stock sled and quit whinning to everyone about how bad MPI is.I installed there s/c on my nytro myself,Sure I had a few problems. Now I know my machine inside out and have it running awesome. I got to know every bolt in my machine and I wouldn't want it any other way!!!!!!

Well said Travis, I couldn't agree more.

Travis - why are you being such a dick? MPI has had a LOT of unsatisfied customers with the SC. I think it's great that your's is working good, hopefully they got a lot of the issues dealt with. All you have to do is do a little search and you will find many, many customers who have had issues with the MPI SC, and a lot of them are pretty experienced guys around boost and sleds. So don't hurt yourself when you fall off that high horse you're riding;)

Get an MCX put on it and ride it. The only tinkering is whatever you normally "tinker" with, ie check oil, clean clutches, check for coolant/oil leaks etc. No messing with fuel adjustments. Forget about lag, it's only on the internet. 12-13lbs pump gas is 230hp or you can turn it up a little and run some Av or race gas. Best turbo setup I've had, enjoy!

Ding Ding, we've got a winner !!:beer;:beer;:D:D

I've been talking with Paul at Impulse in Utah and his kit sounds great. I'm going to start installing two next week. The price is good and the customer service has been good. Before you spend $7000 on an MCX give Paul a call. 801-870-1587.

I'm considering a Nytro for next year as i'm looking for a good 220hp+ on pump gas. I rode a stocker this weekend and WOW, weak sauce (no offense), but i liked how it rode and felt the serious potential (love the snappy throttle response compared to 2 strokes). Too cool with boost though! Looking into options for next year, SC vs. Turbo. The turbo is the way to go it looks like. What can I expect to add for weight with the MCxpress kit vs. the MPI kit? I like the price of the MPI, but sounds like range is more limited with the SC and that's important to me.

Will proabably build in stages. Stock with boost. Then new track, then skid and then tunnel. Ease into $20k+ you know? :D

All opinions are appreciated and rewarded with :beer;

mmmm.....Turbo!!

Easeing Into a turboed nytro is like playing JTT with Jena Jameson!! Before you can blink your Balls Deep!!!:D

Rode several superchargers. I have seen pulleys loosen up and destroy 120$ belts. The Apex I saw runs good but will not run with a turbo. They are great out of the hole and the throttle response is cool. For a guy who does not ride with other turbos it will pretty much be the bad *** on the hill. I personally do not want to deal with all of the moving parts that do not like to stay tight (pulleys), or carrying more belts, that do break. The turbo lag is percieved as in a short drag race he may get a 1/4 length on me before my turbo drives by. i SEE HIM SELLING THE S/C AND GOING TO A TURBO. Good luck!

Good stuff. Looks like the right way to go is always a little more expensive :)

Any other thoughts? Makes sense about the moving parts.

And when i mean ease into the a turbo sled, i mean the $$$. ha ha. I'm excited about the project...
