General 2 Stroke Exhaust Question..

I have an MBRP can and SLP pipe on my sled. The MBRP can has a straight through design, I am always worried the working around it in the gagage or when it gets burried in snow something will get into the cylinder through the exhaust. Say something did get up into the pipe while the sled wasnt running, when it is started would it blow it out, or would the backpressure suck it into cylinder, or is that not how back pressure works..lol I am basically 2 stroke retarded. Help a guy out, and put my mind to rest. When the sled isnt broken I am always trying to prevent/ worried about ways it might get wrecked. Dumb question I know, any help is apreciated.

There are pulses which push un-burned fuel / exhaust mixture back into the cylinder, but I they are limited to the expansion chamber. By the time your exhaust flow is at the smallest point on your pipe (the part that connects to the can / silencer) and beyond, it should be a positive pressure flow which would blow out any snow that might get into your can. Besides, it would simply melt the second it gets in there anyways.

Sorry for the slightly off-topic double post...

What do you think of the difference between your SLP and MBRP cans? My engine just don't like the SLP, so I put up with the noise of the MBRP

Hey, thanks for the reply.... not just snow I am worried about, things like twigs, and when the sled is in the shop metal shavings and stuff like that from the floor.

As for the SLP silencer I found it wouldnt pull as many RPM as the MBRP and just didnt feel as crisp all around.
