Gen II wings

These replace the outside skags with a 11" or 14" long piece of SS angle iron with the ends radiused. I believe they are from Simmons. Anyone tried them? pros-cons....

My Gen 2 has them. Not 14" long though. They rip on the Simmons ski. Much better performance in the deep stuff. If most of your riding is in deeper powder with occasional trails and hard pack it works incredible. For mainly hard pack and trails its hard to beat the factory ski with snowtracker.

I've had the gen 2 ski for 2 years now. I have done lots of tweaking to it but now I've settled into a good set up. I made longer powder fins along the outside edge of the Gen2 ski. The ones that came were only 9" long of 1" angle iron. I made up much larger ones - 24" long of 1 1/4" angle iron. I also used the Snowhawk carbide on the Gen 2 ski. You have to do some minor metal grinding and plastic drilling to make the Snowhawk carbides fit to the gen 2 ski. I also fabricated a mounting bracket so I could still use the twin axis on the Gen 2. Now the Gen 2 ski rips in both powder and hard pack. The longer powder rails made a huge difference especially in the deep powder with down hill turns and landings...

Lets see some pics!

No, the simmons ski comes with its own mount but I hear its not that tough to make the twin axis mount work, I will be attempting this soon!!!
