Who's running lower gearing?
How low is to low?
I want to maintain reverse but want to upgrade gears, chain and tensioner.
Coming off a boosted m8. Have a 12 1100T 162 evo bc275 now
Havnt got a chance to ride it in trees. But from my last ride I can see where some lower gearing would be nice. Sled just seems to fast!
In order to keep track spinning I have to stay on the gas and staying on the gas means to much speed.

Arctic Cat is releasing 20-50 gearing shortly which will maintain reverse. This will utilize the stock chain. We believe that the reasons many of the chains are failing are related to over tightening of the chain by the auto chain tensioner and failure of the chain tensioner. The best thing short of a belt drive would be the lower gear ratio, a manual chain tensioner and one of our US made HD chains. I do not know of any chain failures that have happened after the manual chain tensioner and HD chain has been installed. I am not saying there has not been any, but we have not heard of any.

One more thing, our latest Team clutching calibration eliminates the low speed over shift issues. It also GREATLY enhances on/off/on throttle back shift. This makes lower gearing for boondocking unnecessary. You may want to keep the tall gears with the Big Chute Kit to keep the motor loaded hard. Stock turbo sleds will benefit from lower gearing, but probably not big turbo sleds.
