Gearing suggestions?

I ride an 06 X-fire 700. For upgrades this year I would like to bump from my current 136" X 2" to a 144" X 2" track. Additionally, a re-gear is in order. Any suggestions on a ratio??

For instance, I have a line on a set of used stock M7 gears. Would this be a worth while option?

If your reason for gearing is the track change.
I would not change any thing you are only adding 8in of track 4 of it on the ground not enough to worry about. That machine will handle the change no problem. For your piece of mind AC does not change weights or gear ratio from a 153 to 162.

Not necessarily. My sled always seems to be lugged down when we hit the really heavy snow out west. I would prefer to have my power down low and mid then on the high end. I have found a set of used M gears that might be perfect for what I am looking for.

They are stock M7 gears..63/57. My stock X-fire gears are 65/55.

I was thinking of doing the same thing with my 06 crossfire 700 when I put the 144 X 1.75 backcountry track on it, but I thought the stock gearing was 60/60. Never heard of the 65/55 gearing in a crossfire, but that doesn't mean anything. Do you know how to tell what gears you have with out taking apart the case for the gears?

I was just referring to the diagrahm's on the Brown's Liesure World website. They have micro fisch (spelling??) documents there. According to that website there are 65/55. Is this data inaccurate? I just took a look and yes, the Sno Pro models have 60/60. The standard (which mine is) X-Fire has 65/55.

I switched out my stock gears on my 06 x-fire to stock 06 m7 gears when i was running my 136', then did the upgrade to a 141 track. 10x betters, also Im running y-pipe, pipe, can and reeds so there is a lil more snap to it. Check the weights on you clutch, I had a shop grid them to match evenly.
