Gearing in Switchback

does anyone know what gearing was used in the switchbacks with the 2" track on them, I'm looking at replacing the stock track I have with something a little more aggressive and was wondering if there was a difference in the gearing

also if anyone has a 2"x144 track please pm me

I believe it is the same as the rmk 20-42, I do have a 2" x 144 ported for sale if interested, It has about 500 miles, it is in pretty good shape asking $200.

I'm assuming you are talking about a 2011 800 Switchback Assault since you are in the Pro Ride section.

If your 2011 800 Switchback Assault was delivered from the factory with the 1.3" track... 23 tooth top.... 39 tooth bottom.

If your 2011 800 Switchback Assault was delivered from the factory with the 2" track .... 20 tooth top.... 42 tooth bottom.

72 pitch chain on both.

I have a 2006 Switchback 600 HO, installed a 2"x144" Camoplast Challenger. Stock gearing in the 600 is 22:39 / 76 pitch chain. I regeared to 20:41 and kept the stock helix which is different from the RMK. I took the gearing info straight from the Polairs Shop manual for 2006 / 2007. There is about a 20 MPH drop on top end speed and picked up tons of low end grunt/torque. The speeds match what is on the charts in the Polaris manual. I loved the change from the stock gearing. Top speed on the trails is 86 MPH consistent MN and at altitude in Island Park ID. This gearing change allowed to use the same pitch chain. The Chain is $$$$ if the regearing. Polaris gears were $25-$35 each. Loved the sled :face-icon-small-ton, but snow checked a RMK PRO, can't wait, counting days to snow. :plane:
