Gearing for a longer track

I am thinking of going to a 136" track from a 121" on my 2002 Edge XC 800. I ride flat lands in michigan at 0-3000 FT. I have stock gearing and was wondering what I am going to have to do to get my set-up correct? Another question I have is how large of a lug can I put under my sled before I have to shave lugs to fit by the tunnel coolers?

Thanks for the help!!!

Ethan

I just got finished going to 136" on my 02 700 xcsp for in Mn. I was told I would have to buy a knotched 1.5" track for it to work, but I went with a straight 1.5" paddle and it works fine. I don't have a lot of miles on yet, but don't see the track rubbing on the coolers yet. I have the m-10 and can control my botteming pretty easy so I just turned it up so I didn't bottem on the big stuff. I was burning my clutch belt with the stock 24-40 gearing and went to 22-40 but I also had to swap chains. I was pulling 8000rpms before and now I'm at 8500rpm with the same setup so I have to change the clutching. Snow's as hard as a rock right now so its hard to check how hot my clutches will run now. Just give me a shout if you need any help.

I tried 23/39 gearing on my 121" 800 this year as I had an extra set laying around off of a 600. They will really move, my problem was I didn't have enough track on the ground to hook up even with 144 studs on an 1.25 track. I'd think with your long track these would work really well and pull all the way to the top of the primary. If you can find a set right from a 600 get the chain as well because it's a slightly lower pitch.
