Gearing down with drivers?

Let's see if this worked to upload the MS Excel spreadsheet.

Play with the numbers in the blue boxes

Did not check this one as I have one or two myself. But I did modify one to also include DD math. There you have both the big gears that differ between M6/7/8/10 but also the gear reduction in the planetary gear set.

Think I also added a set-back or rail extension calc where you could put in driver and rear idler diameter.

I'll dig around if anyone wants it.

Wondering where is my math wrong??

I come up with a correction factor of .92 (1/x = 1.08695 ≈ 1.087 {8.7%} )

Where 6.68"/7.28≈.92


I've been wrong many times... so this is a sincere inquiry.

I don't see where your wrong at all, I just didn't round it back as far. I used your 6.68 and 7.28 figures to calculate it, then used 2.1 as present gearing. thks
