Gearing down 04 800 Sum 151, need to change clutching?

2004 Summit 800HO Highmark X 151

Everything is stock in the drivetrain. Meaning stock motor, stock clutching, stock drivers (10T), stock 16x151x2 track, stock 19/45 gearing. I'm replacing the 45 with a 47. Do I have to change anything in the clutches? I'm probably about 200 lbs at the most geared up and am heading to Cooke City this weekend. Just hoping for a little more low end grunt and cooler clutches will be a benefit (though admittedly I have never blown a belt and I have 2400 miles on it). I like to boondock and jump. I don't care to highmark on the big slopes.

I know some people will say I can change this and that, get a clutch kit, etc. My question is, is it absolutely necessary to see the basic benefit of a little more low-end snap and keeping the track speed up in heavy powder?

Thanks,

You won't even notice any difference with 2 teeth difference on the bottom.
The biggest reason to change to the 47 gear is to reduce the dog leg in the chain around the adjuster. Lots of guys (most) run the 19/45 with no problems.
Leave the 45 in it and spend the $$ on gas and oil. Change your primary spring. 160-290 or 160-320. Secondary spring is fine. Stock 44 helix is pretty good. Clicker 5 with 19/45 gears is what I run at Cooke and at home. The primary spring will help it backshift sooner and hold the RPM more constant. I installed a TEAM 160-290 and worked wonders better than stock.
