Gear Ratio on 2013 PRO

2.09 I believe. I would assume they are the same since Poo has stated there are no different ratio choices (yet).

Alot of the people who have gotten to test the pre-production '13's have commented on "increased throttle response", and have attributed this the the lighter weight belt drive assm. If the ratio & actual clutching haven't changed from the '12 models, then that leaves me to wonder if in fact the fuel/timing mapping has recieved some additional attention? Another factor could be revised port timing yet again, compression ratio bump, (could easily handle another .5), or simply hand picked prodution pieces which result in a "super stock" configuration. I mean come on, this wouldn't be the first time "ringers" were out on the snow early to bolster next years sales! (all manufactures guilty). Can't deny the weight loss though!

No manufacturer would EVER do that :face-icon-small-win.

Could just be revised mapping like you say, I know the '11-'12 Doo with just revised engine management made it feel like an entirely different sled, much snappier lo-mid. I'm sure Polaris is doing all they can to up the power and make it stronger low-mid since that is where is has been weakest.

The demos in our first group all carried 2013 EPA Certification badges.

These will be the production tune... I rode them back to back with the 12's and noticed the same throttle response observations as mentioned above. Could be from a lot of factors...

BUT...

It serves reason to believe that each year... the mapping becomes more refined, the port timing becomes more refined, the engine "state of tune" is, for lack of better word... Improved... over previous years.

Good thing.

2.09 is the gear ratio.

At SnowShoot the techs said that the program in the 13s was the same as the current 12 program.

I saw the belt at Lake Geneva today, dang I wish it came on a 144 SBA as it is sweet. Counted 44 teeth on the bottom, made it just about half way and counted 10 on the top so it has at least 20. 44/21 is 2.0952 so it is basically the same as the 42/20 that the chain drives are getting that is exactly 2.1.

how was the 13 compaired to the 12? is it worth to sell my 11 and get a 13?

The 2013 was more "refined" for lack of a better word... the small tweaks here and there and the lighter weight made the sled just plain feel better... Stock, out of the box...the sled is super impressive and does not need to be modded to the hilt to get an awesome machine...
