Just came down from Gold Creek. Entered on the west side at exit 54. Started snowing around 1130am and never stopped. When we were loading back on the trucks around 430pm, I would estimate it to be snowing about 1.5-2 inch an hour. I walked around and cleaned off all the truck window and when I got back to the first one it was covered again.
Drove up the road past the Margaret trail to unload but was on hard pack snow the whole way in. Not even leaving a tire track in the road.
There was one truck in the sno-park lot near the crapper that unloaded there late in the day. Guessing he may have made a few sparks on his way in.
1-3 inches of new depending on where you were riding and under that is a pretty slippery slope. Great for avalanche!! Provided we get lots of snow. We need it. Lots of small stumps and trees all around. Over half of the fence at the tower is still exposed.
On a side note it was snowing pretty hard at exit 45 (9 miles down the pass)
Have fun and enjoy this weekend.
