gauge removal - possible dumb question

ok, so i seem to be missing something. can't see any screws or bolts to hold the gauge pod in? is it just the rubber seal that holds everything tight? don't want to force one thing while i just ending up breaking something else. so how does it come out?

ok, thank you. just wanted to make sure before i broke something. i'm adding the relocation kit from sled solutions.

if you squirt a little w/d 40 around the edge it will come out a little easier, my buds popped right out. on mine i was pushing a lot harder to the point i was getting worried. a little squirt and it came right out.

BE CAREFUL!

AFter a run-in with a tree well, I had some sap on the display. While trying to clean it off, I pushed it into the dash a little bit so it looked crooked. When trying to pull the one side back out, the lens broke. I wasn't prying on it with a screwdriver - simply using the blade of my pocket knife to slide the rubber gasket.

Bottom line - it does not take too much pressure to break the lens, so be careful!!!!

BTW - anyone know if you can just buy the lens? My local dealer made a huge deal about it and said that I would have to replace the whole pod (and have the odometer, hour meter reset.) Does not seem right.

UPDATE: Checked with another dealer - no part number for the lens only, must replace the whole MFD module at $318.00. Also, they do not "re-calibrate," so I will start out with 0 miles and 0 hours. Hmmmm

This was totally my fault. My wonderful mechanical skills have cost me again...

Seems to be the Polaris way...

Can't buy single parts on the ProTaper handle bars either. Need a 10$ part, but they can only sell it as a $150 whole. Get real.

Consumerism...its great, isn't it...

thanks for the suggestions. i go it out and my relocation kit installed. wd-40 would have been nice to try b/c it took some effort to push it out dry.

Rotax. You should be able to buy every piece for the pro tapers individually. When I ordered mine I had 5 or six diffrent part number. Ie. Bars, grips grab strap. Bar pad and end hooks. With two for the hooks and grips.
