Usually I'm pretty good at electrical and comman sense lol..but I'm stumped.

On one of my 05 rmk 900s, i nstalled electric start..which is siiiccckkk if U've never had one lol..

Well when I start the sled, everything works great, then after I shut it off..and key switch, kill switch ect is all off..the brake light and gauges are still on..and no matter what I do I cant shut them off..(dont run a headlight FYI, so don't knw if that's on too, lol)

Only way to shut them off is to pull the wire off the circuit breaker on the electric start battery..then I hear the relay click and it shuts off..then I put the wire back on and it's all good until it runs and I shut it off again??

Already replaced the relay for the electric start and the relay on the engine harness by the TPS..no change..

Ideas?

Last option is to run a toggle off the circuit breaker and kill power that way when the sled is off

is the capacitor keeping the relay energized

well, i thought the same thing bud. but the capacitor will keep voltage for a while and eventually drain out, thus shutting off the lighs...

however, now that the sled has electirc start and of coarse a battery, i assume its getting its voltage off the battery..

so, not sure how the capacitor would come into play you know?

im pretty stumped right now...but still kicking ideas, lol.

appreciate the reply

The way it sounds to me, it sounds like you have a wire on the wrong pin on the key switch causing the power from the battery to be passed through the switch to your other electrical on the sled instead of being killed when you turn off the switch. I dont know much about the 900's but that would be my .02

thanks for the input bud.

the thing about the 900 chassis i there no real way to wire the electric start "wrong"..the key switch is factory, so works with or w/o the starter kit...all you add is a battery, starter, few wires attach (only plug in 1 way, to certain harnesses and plug in a relay)...

so by plugging in the relay, you send the pwr to the key from the battery and out to the starter at that point...its really a dummy proof install. lol.

i just went with the "simplest" thing i can think of until one day it just clicks to me and i figure it out, i put a small toggle switch under the key assembly, it has a small VERY bright LED light...so when i kill the sled, the light will be on, and will let me know the battery is still sending power out...once i shut off the toggle, it will shut off the battery pwr to the relay an kill the circuit right away...then i will just leave the toggle on for the next go round..

its a simple process, just 1 more thing to add to shutting the sled off...but its a super clean install and the toggle looks factory, so im fine with it

That sounds like it would work great. Just curious if you asked a dealer about this? It sounds like something was missed by polaris if this is what happens? but then again whats new there.lol
