Gates Belts?

I was at one of the local shops in town the other day and saw that they sold Gates belts for sleds for $53 which is dirt cheap compared to AC belts and they have a warranty. Who has ran Gates belts on an M1K and how did they work?

I have not run on my m7 I can tell you an mc 800 the belt was too hard. Too much slippage Gates said I needed to shim the spider. I suppose I could have made it work with some clutching combos but I figured that in the end the cost would be too much to run one. I have had good luck with carlisle swapping back and forth with AC belts. Grant it that it has been a few year so maybe they have changed.

m7

Tried others with the m7, but the performance is best with arctic belt worth the extra dollars and alot less slipage.....:D just my experience...:beer;the cut on the belt just seemed different...

I've compared the carlisle xs belts, I feel they're superior to the cat belt, both in performance & in longevity.

I'll never buy a cat belt again unless carlisle stops making them!

i had some very bad luck with these on an RT....they did last longer, but grenade like a mega bomb when they came apart, kinda freaked me out

i do have a buddy who used this belt last year.....they lasted about as fast the BRP belts did, so its a toss up i guess, and mailing the belt back for a refund seems like a pain to me

belt

Hey,try mailing your CAT belt and see how you make out.i sent a XS-817 in in chunks and a BRAND NEW belt was sent to me.If the longevity is about the same the cost is about HALF!!!
